About the Director
Constance M. Fronden is a 1979 graduate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County with a B.A., academic honors, in Visual and Performing Arts, Concentration Dance. She was very privileged to have Elizabeth Walton, one of the early members of the Paul Taylor Dance Company, as her faculty advisor. Upon graduation, Constance became a member of Impetus, a modern dance company, directed by Jeff Duncan. She later went on to obtain a J.D., with honors, from the University of Maryland. Constance has been teaching dance in Southern York County and Northern Baltimore County since 1994.
She holds numerous certifications and participates in continuing professional
development annually. Constance currently teaches dance as adjunct faculty at York College of Pennsylvania.
Carolyn Romond
As a member of York College of Pennsylvania's Dance Team and this year's YCP Dance
Excel co-captain, Miss Carolyn brings an exciting, fresh outlook to Monday
nights at York Dance Arts. An original "Jersey Girl" Carolyn hails from North
Plainfied, NJ where she graduated from high school as a National Honor Society,
Italian Honor Society member and a Canuck mentor. Carolyn has been dancing since
she was 3 and began assisting at her home studio, Miss Kim's School of Dance, in
2004. As a senior at Miss Kim's, Carolyn received 4 High Gold awards in dance
competitions. Carolyn has been teaching at York Dance Arts since 2009 and was
instrumental in forming the York Dance Arts dance team.
Brittany Ryan
Miss Brittany Ryan joined us in 2009 from York College of Pennsylvania after
graduating from Baltimore Lutheran High School. Miss Britt danced for 14 years
with Carroll Manor Recreation Council where she also teaches. She studied
ballet, pointe, tap, jazz and hip hop and was a member of the senior company
taking the most advanced levels of ballet during high school. She began
assisting with younger students starting at the early age of 12. One of Miss
Britt’s fondest memories is dancing in the Nutcracker with Anna Apicella’s
School of Dance when she was in the 6th grade. Britt had a lead role
as Tootie in Meet Me in St Louis during her sophomore year in high school. She
only wishes she had more time to dance in college with Miss Carolyn on YCP Dance
Excel. She’s too busy putting her heart and soul into her studies and her
classes teaching here at York Dance Arts.
Denise Bostdorf
Denise Bostdorf may be scheduled for private lessons in ballroom dance. She has been
dancing since the age of four. She began ballroom dancing during college and
after just a few months was invited to begin teacher training. She worked for
Arthur Murray Studios for ten years in California, New Mexico and Colorado.
Denise and her partner were Rising Star champions and ranked 4th in the U.S. in
American Smooth categories. Denise went on to spend the next five years working
in a management position with the Starlite Ballroom in San Jose, California, the
largest ballroom in the U.S. This gave her the very rewarding experience of
working with all kinds of people in many different capacities. Denise now lives
here in Pennsylvania with her husband, himself an ex-dance instructor, and their
adorable son, Nash. Nash occasionally allows them to get out to dance a few
times a year and they still love it! She currently also works as a Certified
Massage Therapist and teaches fitness classes at the YMCA in Shrewsbury.
